We have asked four participating companies – Interface Precision Engineering, Leybold, LAB Motion Systems and Ridgway Machines – why they participate and what they hope to take home from BSBF2018.
Why do you participate in BSBF2018?
Interface Precision Engineering: “To network and communicate with both new and previous contacts that we have been able to work with. We want to learn more about the customers we work with and how we can progress with them.”
LAB Motion Systems: “We want to show that our products are more than just a match to the needs of companies working with synchrotrons. Our rotation stages and linear slides are top of the art and we would like to present our know-how in ultra precision techniques.”
Leybold: “It will be a great opportunity to meet our big R&D customers in high energy physics and space again and get updates on future projects and cooperation possibilities”
Ridgway Machines: “We are interested in finding out how Big Science play together with business. We want to engage with organisations we already work with but also meet new organisations and build relationships with them.”
Which part of BSBF2018 is most interesting for you and why?
Interface Precision Engineering: “To learn about the new projects running within the Big Science organisations, and how procurement will be effected because of that.”
LAB Motion Systems: “We believe that every step of the conference will be interesting for us. We are eager to meet customers and have a friendly chat but also eager to see their end products and the products of other companies. We are eager to see ESRF, XFEL, and especially day 2 as this focusses on what we do: high precision, electromechanical components, instrumentation and control.”
Leybold: “Both the conference and exhibitors program will be interesting for Leybold. The conference program will help us to gain information about vacuum related business opportunities and improve the exchange with the Big Science organisations. The exhibition will provide an opportunity to present our services and products.”
Ridgway Machines: The conference as a whole looks very interesting and we are especially looking forward to networking and establishing long lasting relationships with organisations.”
Do you think that BSBF2018 seems different from other conferences in this field?
Interface Precision Engineering: “Because the largest European scientific organisations are involved in BSBF2018, it gives the event a feel of more importance. A lot of the top representatives will be attending, giving a company like ours a good chance to network with crucial contacts.”
LAB Motion Systems: “BSBF2018 focusses on synchrotrons more than other conferences, which are often more general exhibitions of technological products.”
Leybold: “BSBF2018 is an opportunity to have a broader range of people coming together from different branches and applications.”
Ridgway Machines: “The industry leaders in Big Science are all involved in BSBF2018 and it will be a great opportunity to hear from and speak to representatives from such organisations in the field.”
What do you hope to take home from BSBF2018?
Interface Precision Engineering: “An understanding of how important the European scientific supply chain is to these organisations, and to be able to introduce ourselves to new people within these organizations.”
LAB Motion Systems: “We just want to have a good experience, show our technology, take up contact with customers or customers-to-be, and just be there to answer questions and gain knowledge in the technologies of other companies. BSBF2018 is THE place to expand our technological and scientific horizon.”
Leybold: “We expect interesting discussions with our customers, insights, updates and news about their future roadmap and needs.”
Ridgway Machines: “We hope to take home a greater understanding of Big Science as a business area. As an SME who offer the highest quality specialist design and manufacturing we are looking forward to hearing from keynote speakers on a wide range of topics.”
